Blogtober | Day 12: Books I’m thankful for – 2020 edition

Happy Thanksgiving!

I made the last-minute decision to stay home for the long weekend. It would have been nice to see family but — truthfully — these three days have been bliss. Sleeping and eating. Eating and sleeping. A long walk. Reading.

This Thankgiving, I’m thankful for stay-cations.

Today, for Day 12 of Blogtober, I’m featuring 5 books/authors that I’m thankful to have discovered over the past year — so, between mid-October 2019 and now.

The works of Margaret RogersonAn Enchantment of Ravens and Sorcery of Thorns. These books are whimsical and lovely, and just about the perfect immersive fairy tale experience.

The works of Madeline Miller – The Song of Achilles, Circe, and Galatea. Lyrical, smart, and sufficiently magical to capture my attention. I can’t wait for her next book

Strange the Dreamer and Muse of Nightmares by Laini Taylor – Hypnotic, velvety, and thoughtful. Strange the Dreamer is one of my top reads of 2020.

The Works of William RitterJackaby and The Oddmire. These books are fun and fast-paced, and carry such a lovely, wholesome message.

House of Earth and Blood by Sarah J.Β Maas – Admittedly, it took me two reads to get this book — it is just so dense — but, jeez. Talk about an emotional punch. Maas has done it again.

What 2019-2020 reads are you thankful for?

    1. It totally is! I just checked her GoodReads, and no sign of her next book yet 😦 Hopefully they’ll announce something soon.
