Blogtober | Day 2: October Releases

Happy October 2nd! Pretty soon we’ll all be complaining about how it’s the 28th. (Silly time warps!) Until then, let’s talk new releases.

… easier said than done. There are so many amazing books being released this month. At risk of breaking the internet with a very long post, here are my top three most-anticipated October releases!

Coming in at #3 is The Devil and the Dark Water by Stuart Turton — author of The Seven Deaths of Evelyn Hardcastle. Evelyn blew my mind in the best of ways. Dark Waters is sure to do the same.

Next is The Once and Future Witches by Alix E. Harrow. I loved Ten Thousand Doors of January (or, at least the first third …), and am so excited to see where this book goes.

And at #1 …

Probably no surprise. The Invisible Life of Addie La Rue is one of my most-anticipated books of the entire year. The critical praise is outstanding. I just wish it had a prettier (and/or more Schwab-like) cover.

Blogtober | Day 1: My October TBR

Alright. A bit late, but it’s still October 1st in my part of the world …

Welcome, y’all, to Blogtober 2020!

I’m kicking things off with my October TBR! Which, thanks to my mood reading tendencies, essentially counts for nothing. But … you know …

Alrighty …. what do we have in store?

Starting off easy. I’m currently re-reading Sorcery of Thorns (sigh!) — and am making steady progress on the Percy Jackson series. The Glass Hotel is … well, I’m somewhere around chapter 4. It’s lovely. But very literary.

… and then there’s the spooky seasonal reads. I’ve heard such good things about all three of these.

Last but not least: I’d like to make some progress on (and/or finish) some series that I’m part-way through. A sense of closure would be good.
