Hola! Welcome to our first T10T of June!
I’m just going to let that hang there.
It’s June, guys.
June.
Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly prompt by The Broke and the Bookish and The Artsy Reader Girl. The list is 400+ strong — so, not wanting to miss anything, I started at prompt #1. This week’s prompt is Favourite Places to Read.
- On the floor – Is this weird? I find the floor SO much more comfortable to sit on than most couches and chairs … I used to study for HOURS sitting on the floor in (or just outside) my dorm room.
- At the cabin – Well, almost. After twenty years of looking, my family finally has a cabin to call our own. It’s currently under major renovations — but, soon enough, it’ll be a prime weekend-getaway reading haven.
- On an airplane – For whatever reason, I am amazingly productive and focused when I’m travelling. There’s nothing better than tucking into a book on a 10-hour flight.
- In bed – That lazy, quiet hour (or longer …) before drifting off to sleep.
- At a cafe – Lovely background murmur + Lattes
- On the porch – There’s a wonderful, shaded patio in my parent’s garden which is the perfect place to read on a July day.
- In the park – Admittedly, I mainly use reading as an excuse to people-watch.
- Ski lodges – I don’t like skiing, but my lodge-sitting skills are infamous. Books go best with wooly sweaters and hot chocolate.
- My bay window – My old apartment was in a 100-year-old building, with an amazing bay window that looked out onto the main quad, the west courtyard, and a 95-year-old building built like a castle. It was utterly gorgeous – and I still ache for the space.
- *THAT* chair – Preference for floors aside, every so often you find *THAT* chair. Squishy but structured. Lots of support. Enough room to wiggle around. Likely belongs in the Gryffindor Common Room.
