I like audiobooks. A lot. Talented narrators can bring a whole new level to the story — plus, you can multitask. I’ve knit many scarves — washed many dishes — and walked many miles alongside audiobooks.
But, not all books make good audiobooks … especially in light of the fact that I do tend to become distracted when listening. Audiobooks where you really need to focus — books that are a bit more intellectual — just don’t work for me.
Empire of Wild? It … just didn’t work for me.
… which I’m super bummed about. The narrator was excellent, and the story — based on Métis werewolf mythology — looks super unique. But it was one of those books that you really need to pay attention to in order to grasp the plot.
I have a physical copy at my apartment, and am looking forward to trying this again in the fall. (?) Until then … back to the library.
