Best Female Main Character
This was definitely the year of strong female leads …
Today’s award is split between Elisabeth from A Sorcery of Thorns and The Archeron Sisters from A Court of Thorns and Roses, for offering well-rounded female role models to look up to. Elisabeth, for being SO brave and loving herself SO much. The Archeron sisters for showcasing different types of strength.
Side now: I love how authors are starting to embrace a more-balanced view of femininity. The passive female is definitely out … and the hyper-aggressive female is also fading fast. Having dynamic, three-dimensional characters who embrace their femininity, agency, AND who are individuals is definitely on their way in. (Please, sir! I want some more!)
Honourary Mentions:

YAAAAY! Em you chose two of my favorite heroines! And I agree with you about the heroines of these days! I think Elizabeth is a perfect example!
